NC Coastal ~ After School Program

The After School Program focuses on the essential skills needed to be a good mountain biker that includes: trail safety and stewardship, trail scanning, bike and body positioning, braking, gear shifting, turning and cornering, wheel lifts, proper climbing and descending, ratcheting and more!

This eight week program is for kids 8+ years old with a bike wheel size of 24″ or greater that are comfortable riding a geared mountain bike on dirt trails. It  is limited to 8 participants each session. Parents you can drop off or hang out at your discretion. The event fee also includes a nifty swag bag with all sorts of riding gear and discounts!

Trail rides are incorporated into the 2nd half of the program leaving from the park into the nearby trail network.

This program starts with the basics and progresses to high level shredding that every bike loving kid needs! We guarantee you they will be ripping it up like no other, HIGH levels of FLOW and FUN to be had!

Please come ready with a geared mountain bike that is recently serviced and well working. Don’t forget to double check the chain, brakes and tire air pressure. Wear a properly fitted helmet (snug is important), closed toe sneakers and athletic clothing that is safe to ride in and weather appropriate. Well fed and hydrated riders tend to have the most fun! NC Coastal ~ Bike Maintenance Mini-Clinic & Family Ride

Learn the basics of mountain bike maintenance and enjoy a family-friendly trail ride!  Certified professional bicycle mechanics and Sprockids coaches will teach essential skills so that you can take proper care of your own bike.  Additionally, we will get into bike fit and tuning for comfort and performance.  The beginner-intermediate ride will be approximately 4 miles.  After the ride, staff will be available to offer advice and recommendations about bikes, tools and equipment.  Parent/guardian registration and participation required.

Please come ready with a geared mountain bike that has 24″ or greater wheels, that is in working condition.  While class includes maintenance instruction, staff will not be able to repair bikes not in operable condition. Participants for this ride should be comfortable riding off-road on undulating terrain, previous trail riding experience is recommended. Wear a properly fitted helmet, closed toe sneakers and athletic clothing that is safe to ride in and weather appropriate. NC Coastal ~ Family Ride

Join us with your young riders as we explore the local trail system! This is an intermediate level Sprockids Family Ride. Some mountain biking experience is required. Our guides will lead the adventure around San Elijo Hills area trails in San Marcos.

Participants for this ride should be comfortable riding off-road on undulating terrain. A geared mountain bike with hand brakes is required. Expect to pedal 3-5 miles with elevation changes over the course of the ride. Family rides are open to riders ages 8+.

PARENTS: This is an event for you to ride alongside your young shredder, please book a ticket for yourself as well.

The Sprockids San Diego Fundamentals I clinic teaches off-road skills and essential technique through drills, games, and fun activities.

Your rider will learn: bike safety and how to conduct an ABC bike check, importance of a properly fit helmet and a helmet check, about bike components and equipment, the three mountain bike essentials, what neutral and ready position are and how and when to use them, proper bike body positioning and separation, shifting gears and how to brake effectively. Skills are taught in a playful environment using our obstacles and playing games while on the bike!

This clinic is suitable for riders aged 7+ that are comfortable riding their bikes off-road. 

Please come ready with a geared mountain bike that has a wheel size of 20″ or greater and is recently serviced and functional. Don’t forget to double check the chain, brakes and tire air pressure. Wear a properly fitted helmet (snug is important), closed toe sneakers and athletic clothing that is safe to ride in and weather appropriate. Well fed and hydrated riders tend to have the most fun! Please bring a bike mounted water bottle or hydration pack and a light snack.

Parents can participate in our clinics and learn alongside your child. The same skill, equipment and bike requirements stated above apply for parents and you must also book yourself a ticket.

Join us for an exciting week of mountain biking at our Summer Camp Program in Carlsbad! This Monday-Friday program is designed to teach kids the basics of bike skills and provide them with the opportunity to shred on the trails. In addition to biking, we have planned a variety of fun games and activities to keep the participants engaged and entertained.

During the program, we will cover essential bike skills such as trail safety and stewardship, bike and body positioning, braking, gear shifting, turning and cornering, climbing and descending, and more. Our experienced instructors will guide the participants through interactive games and drills to reinforce these skills. We will also embark on trail rides that start from the park and explore a nearby trail network. This will allow the participants to put their newly acquired skills into practice and experience the thrill of mountain biking in a safe and supervised environment.

This program is open to kids aged 7 and above, with a bike wheel size of 20″ or greater, who are comfortable riding a geared mountain bike on dirt trails. 

For the summer program, your rider will need to bring a bike that is in good working condition, a properly fitted helmet (snug is important), closed-toe sneakers, wear athletic clothing that is safe and suitable for biking, a packed lunch, light snacks, and a water bottle to stay energized and hydrated throughout the day.

Oceanside – Krewzers Summer Camp (5-6 years old)

Krewzers, Three-Day Summer Camp

Our Krewzers Summer Camp is designed especially for 5–6 year olds who are excited to ride bikes, play games, and build confidence on two wheels.

Oceanside – Guajome Regional Park, Wednesday, 6/10 – Friday, 6/12

Each day is packed with short, engaging bike rides, fun skill stations, and creative games that keep young riders moving, laughing, and learning. We focus on building comfort and confidence in a safe, supportive, and age-appropriate environment.

Throughout the camp, riders will practice:

Balancing and starting smoothly

Pedaling and gentle braking

Steering and turning

Bike and helmet safety

Riding with friends and following simple trail rules

Our experienced Ride Krew coaches use games, obstacle courses, and imaginative activities to help riders learn while having a blast. We mix in plenty of breaks, snacks, and off-bike fun to keep energy high and smiles even higher!

Riders must already know how to ride a bike independently. This camp is designed for kids who can pedal, steer, and brake on their own and are ready for three days of fun, games, and skill-building on wheels—a playful introduction to mountain biking and group riding!


What to Bring:
To ensure a great experience, your rider will need:

  • A bike your child can ride confidently. Rental bikes available at registration.
  • A properly fitted helmet (snug fit is key)
  • Closed-toe sneakers
  • Athletic clothing suitable for biking
  • A packed lunch, light snacks, and a water bottle to stay fueled and hydrated

No bike? No problem!
Bike rentals, starting at 20″ are available for an additional $79 for the week. Details are included in the bike rental agreement at registration.  A 20” bike generally fits riders around 3’8” (44”) and up. Fit can vary by bike and rider confidence.
